THAILAND – Dr. Bow, Ratchadaporn Srisamut, is a veterinarian who treats elephants across southern Thailand, known to her followers through her Facebook page and YouTube channel, both playfully named after her small frame and very large patients. After working at Krabi Elephant Hospital, she left to care for her mother, who has dementia, while continuing her true calling. Over seven years, she has driven her own vehicle across the region, treating sick elephants free of charge and saving over 1,000 to date.
She never bills the owners, knowing elephants are often a family’s sole livelihood. To fund her work, she sells
merchandise and takes online advertising jobs. Today the vet continues both roles without pause – advocate for animals that cannot speak for themselves, and devoted daughter, driven by the same heart.
