A Final Farewell to Our Furry Friends

THAILAND – Dogs and cats have long been belovedcompanions to humans. We often see kind individualsadopting strays, finding homes for them, or donating moneyand food to animal welfare organizations. But KritapasJungteptoh and his wife Jaruwan, also known as “BrotherKoi” and “Sister Joom”, chose to care for animals in theirfinal moments. Using their own funds and support fromdonors, they built a crematorium for deceased pets at WatPa Samakkhi Nong Kaew Temple in Udon Thani province.Originally an open-air setup using charcoal and wood, it waslater upgraded with a metal-roofed concrete structure, asmoke filter, and a proper incinerator with an ash collectiontray, offering a respectful farewell for pets who might otherwisebe left to die alone on the roadside or in trash bins.
