Color Grooving

As photographers, light does more than simply reveal what lies before us. It dictates how a moment feels.

That morning on the beach of Vung Tau, the first rich golden sun light shone through. The silhouettes of fishermen dragging boats and hauling nets were transformed into dark shadow. The delicate mesh of the nets, backlit by the sun, revealed intricate details. A simple yet profound rhythm of daily life unfolding.

As morning progressed, the beach town’s color palette shifted. Brilliant sunlight instantly awakened the surrounding colors. Blue wooden fishing boats contrasted with the sand, vibrant lifebuoys, canvas umbrellas, colorful plastic chairs lined along the shore, and bright lanterns in small shops. Everything came alive, striking the eye with pure vitality.

Before long, the evening light softened the scene into warm tones of orange and pink, bathing old buildings near the rocks and the quiet waters in a serene glow.

I did not intend to capture these images just to show how beautiful this place is.

Rather, I wanted to preserve the exact light and colors of the moment I stood there watching.

Because sometimes, a photograph is simply a record of emotions… filtered through our eyes.
