THAILAND – Several soldiers and civilians were injured and killed in the recent fighting between Thai and Cambodian forces. Amid this tension, nationwide support poured in, both moral encouragement and essential supplies. Among the most remarkable contributions came from Mahasarakham University’s Food Technology Department.
Faculty and students developed innovative ready-to-eat emergency meals using advanced food preservation technology specifically for border patrol soldiers. The portable rations feature diverse menus including fried rice, sticky rice, fried beef, fried pork, and durian sticky rice. The meals maintain delicious flavor while lasting 1-2 years in storage. As the saying goes, “an army marches on its stomach”, and when that sustenance is both nutritious and delicious, the soldiers’ spirits are lifted up exponentially.
