CHINA – Chinese social media has recently shared a heartwarming story about Liu Qiangdong (Richard), the 50-year-old billionaire and founder of JD.com, who returns with his wife to Guangming village, Jiangsu province, every year. Since 2016, they give 10,000 yuan villagers over 60, plus thousands of yuan worth of food, clothing, and elecronics to every family. Decades ago, the villagers collected 500 yuan and 76 eggs to help cover his travel expenses to study university in Beijing. After graduating, he founded an electronics store and later opened JD.com, which has grown into one of China’s leading e-commerce platforms.
