Going back in time to experience the charm of the renovated ancient Thai style house of Siam Charoennakhon. The restaurant stands against time over 150 years by the Chaopraya River. Its sky blue color gives warmth and life, the wooden furniture giving it a classic feel. There are two zones; the outdoor boasts a greenery garden with seats to enjoy the view and cool breeze while the indoor
area is divided into two levels – ground floor café and dining on the upper floor.
The menu focuses on authentic Thai style flavor. Try Miang Pla Kapong (fried seabass with rich sauce) is highly recommended; the fish is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with various sides; a burst of umami in a mouthful and Moo Hong (braised pork) in southern style where the flawless duo of saltiness and sweetness meet.
Another must-try is Bai Liang Pad Kai (stir-fried baegu/ malindjo leaves with eggs) which gives the wafting smell of fried garlic. If you prefer an strong-flavor dish, try Kaeng Luerng Yod Maprao (Southern Thai yellow curry with coconut shoot), or Pad Sator Kapi Kung (fried stink beans with shrimp paste and prawns).
For drinks, try Mango x Plum Sauce – mango smoothies with plum powder – a superb refreshment to cool you down before finishing off with Namtarn Sod Songkrueng Ice Cream which made from nectar of the palm or coconut flowers.
