Celebrate with Digital Detox

Twenty years ago, the world couldn’t contain its excitement over the arrival of Facebook and itspossibility to connect with people around us and the world. Although the number of social media apps has remained high, the number of uninstallations has steadily increased too. Studies have shown that more than 50 percent of respondents in surveys across the world said they wanted to be less dependent on smartphones and thought of switching to feature phones and leave smartphones at home when possible. However, up to 50-80 percent of respondents admitted they miserably failed this ‘new year resolution’ within a few days or weeks.

The key to successful digital detox is to have alist of activities to replace that ‘void’ period. It could be things you’d like to do or long-forgotten hobbies. A clear plan, thus, is very crucial as it keeps you focused and not thinking of picking up the phone. We strongly recommend visiting friends and families for extroverts and meditation for introverts. A time in solitude is the best detox as it cleanses both your brain and your mind. But if the temptation to grab your phone is taking over, keep telling yourself what you want from this detox and the happy ending once the mission is completed.
