In January, Knowing Buddha Organization (KBO) submitted an open letter to Thai PM Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, calling for the government to review its decision on the second lockdown policy to curb the spread of Covid-19. Led by KBO President Acharavadee Wongsakon, the letter said that economic damage from the lockdown would be too severe, given the disease’s fatality rate of less than 1 percent.
